Composition
Each vial contains 75 IU or 150 IU of hMG (human menopausal gonadotropin), having equal quatities of FSH (follicle stimualting hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone).
Indication
For stimulation of the development of multiple follicles (superovulation) in women undergoing Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART)
Due to ovulatory disorder – Ovulation induction
Male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism
Dosage and Administration
1. For stimulation of the development of multiple follicles (superovulation) in women undergoing Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) / Due to ovulatory disorder – Ovulation induction
- Inject intramuscularly 75 IU a day for 7 ~ 12 days and administer 5,000 ~ 10,000 IU hCG (IVF-C) one day after the last treatment of IVF-M.
- A cycle should be limited to 12 days.
- Treatment continues until estrogen activity of patient equals to or goes higher than that of healthy women.
- If ovary abnormally enlarges at the end of treatment, do not administer hCG to avoid ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
- If it is evident that ovulation occurs but pregnancy doesn’t ensue, repeat this regiment and administer 5,000 ~ 10,000 IU hCG (IVF-C) one day after the last injection of IVF-M. After at least twice repetition of this regimen, increase the dose to 150 IU a day and repeat this cycle more than twice. Doses higher than 150 IU are not recommended.
2. Male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism
- Inject intramuscularly 75 IU thrice a week with concomitant administration of 2,000 IU hCG (IVF-C) twice a week for at least 4 months.
- Before combination therapy with IVF-M and hCG (IVF-C), a pre-treatment of 2,000 ~ 5,000 IU hCG (IVF-C) thrice a week for 4 ~ 6 months is required to ensure full development of secondary sexual characters and reach normal range of testosterone.
- If spermatogenesis is not evident at the end of treatment, inject 75 ~ 150 IU thrice a week with concomitant administration of 2,000 IU hCG (IVF-C) twice a week.
